About Moi!

Hey beautiful peoples welcome to my Blog!

Yes you guessed it, its about all things Natural Curly, Coily, Kinky!

I'm a young Londoner blogging about my natural hair experience! I cut off my relaxed ends in October 2012 but still didn't really look after my hair as I had it in braids and weaves. As of July 2013 I have been really looking after my hair so I would say that is the real start date of my natural hair journey (I have 4C hair). I decided to start this blog to document my experience of my natural journey because seriously it is hard to keep up to date of what works for your hair and track progress. If you are reading this and are also thinking of going natural or already are, I hope that you can also learn from my experiences and we can encourage each other to Love Our Kurls! :)

Why did I decide to go natural?

For as long as I can remember I have always had extensions. Go through my primary school photos through to secondary it was all braided extensions. College came and I finally allowed to relax my hair..Yippeee! Then in went the weave straight away! That had been my practise up until October 2012. I then bought another relaxer as I do at which point I thought to myself .... Hang on a minute! .... I'm about to relax my hair and then cover it up with weave????? So I was damaging my hair with relaxer to only damage it further with a tight weave ( by October 2012 my hair was soooo damaged from relaxer, especially the back.. if i'm brave enough I will post the pics!)

At this point my whole hair life flashed before my eyes and I realised how ridiculous I was being with my hair! and if I carried on I would have bald patches and a receding hairline (we've all seen the Naomi pics, sorry girll had to put it out there).  I researched natural hair on youtube and found a whole movement going on. It took me about a month to actually chop off my ends, and when I finally did, oh the liberation! For the first time since my birth I actually saw what I really looked like! ( not going to lie this was distressing at first lol but it really grew on me and I'm liking the real moi!)

I am passionate about natural hair because I feel the black community has been sold a lie that black hair cant grow and black hair is undesirable. On the contrary, black afro curly kinky coily hair is unique and beautiful and we should embrace it

Welcome to my natural hair journey!
More than LYK your curls... Love Your Kurls!
